Default Got shammed by Dr. DC2 on an SRS wheel :(

So, I bought what Dr. DC2 advertised as "98 spec SRS ITR MOMO wheel, 9/10" with pictures of a fairly clean wheel, but the pics have since been removed.
Thread:http://www.hondamarketplace.com/show....php?t=3021727

I talked with him though email and we agreed on $350 shipped from Japan (his location). I sent the money as a gift figuring everything was cool. He tells me he has to send the money to his friend because it’s not his wheel, but his friend's (here we go).

10 days later I get the wheel. Looks alright, has some scuffs on the rim, but nothing too bad, stitches look nice and red so I'll let the 9/10 claim slide... Turn it around and no airbag, no hub.

I write a PM to Dr.DC2 asking him what's up with that. He says he will have his friend contact me as this is not his problem because he made no money on the deal.

About a week later his friend contacts me and says he couldn't ship the Airbag because USPS does not allow shipment of explosives. (Hmmm maybe he should have told me that he will not be sending the most relevant part before shipping the wheel!)
He said if I can change this regulation then he will ship the airbag. As for the hub, he said he will source one and send it to me (great at least I get something right).

No contact for days. I write to him with compromises, even offering to ship the airbag to my friend in Japan, no response to this day (been about 3 weeks). I wrote to Dr. DC2 to ask him to speak with his friend and he felt threatened and called me a "drama queen".

I never once called anyone names or used profanity in this ordeal, but these two scumf*cks can rot in hell. Watch out for Dr. DC2 and the stuff he sells, if you need to buy something from his ask A Lot of questions as he doesn't disclose all the important information about his items.

2 sides to a story, always...

BUT... I don't like where this is going already. Why would Dr.DC2 not put you in contact with his friend and stay out of the middle? Also, airbag should have been disclosed up front.

Hope you guys work it out. I'd send the wheel back, minus shipping for a refund of your original price, minus the shipping back.

I asked Dr. DC2 why he didn't tell me it was his friends wheel until after I sent payment, he gave no comment.

Also, I asked for a refund and would have sent it back to him, but his friend did not accept it.

If you paid with a credit card through paypal you can get your money back and keep the wheel. File a claim through your cc company for fraud because you didn't receive what you were suppose to in the condition you were told.

No airbag is one thing, but no hub is absolutely ridiculous.

he's correct that airbags can't be shipped normally. they have to be ground mail last i checked and there is some paper work to be filled out. that was the case when i worked at Acura as a parts advisor.

hope this works out in the end OP.

Sorry to hear this man. This guy appears to be a complete douche/scumbag. I posted a thread and he completely bashed me for no apparent reason. From that time on I knew there was something off with the guy. Hope he gives you your money back

It don't matter if it was his or his friend's. If he posted up the ad and received the payment, he owns this deal and should be responsible till the end.

Dr. DC2, you should issue a refund and reimburse the buyer all the shipping fees incurred. It's no different from selling a set of suspension but there's no oil inside the shocks.

When you're buying something online, never send payment as a gift. You just waiving your rights to a dispute.

hey i work for fedex and have never come across shipping a air bag so i gave them a call for you.

What they told me is that it does depend on where in japan its coming from and where in USA it is going, why im not sure. But the only additional forms your required to have is a Internation Commerical invoice (just letting them know what it is, whers its made and stuff like that) The only other thing and she said, this may be an opption, but its call a HF7 Forum and i think its just for customs for dangerious or hazardous material.

From what info i collected is there should be no additional cost or anything just two extra forms to fill out other than the airway bill

Hope this helps you out

Shipping must of been handled through USPS because its easier to ship on a military installation overseas. APO, AP addresses. Its like if you were to ship in a ordinary USPS post office in the States. The only thing different is a customs form that you are exporting.

I'm assuming this guy is military stationed in Misawa Air Base. He's probably Air Force, or Army. If you really want to get a hold of this guy contact this 1st Sgt. This will make him be more responsive to you for sure.

To all,

I have not followed up on my friend's communication with the buyer of this wheel. I have messaged 734 and will ensure he receives a hub. I have sold many items to fellow H-T members and have had zero issues in the past. Not a single person has had a complaint about the product they've received previously to this exchange. Although this is not my problem, I will do whatever it takes to provide 734 with a hub though the airbag issue is out of my hands. I will ask my friend to ship the airbag but I can make no promises. So much for trying to help a friend just to end up making zero profit and getting bashed for being the middle-man.

It does suck to get bashed over selling something for a friend, but you did post it. The part I don't get is when you made your for sale thread, you could of said the air bag nor the hub was included. This would of saved you a ton of headaches.

You posted the parts for sale. You are no middle-man here. It most certainly is your problem.

Paypal won't do much unless you bought through ebay. He also sent the payment as a gift so paypal won't do anything to help in this situation.

His CC company is going to be the only way to resolve this. Fortunately they will protect and defend their card holder.

Also if the guy said he would ship everything for 350 then he was required to do so. The shipper should of done some research into sending hazardous cargo before agreeing to that price.

noted* never buy/deal with Dr. DC2

"98 spec SRS ITR MOMO wheel, 9/10. SOLD

A DEAL IS A DEAL. ONCE PAYMENT IS RECEIVED YOU WILL NOT BE GETTING YOUR MONEY BACK IF YOU CANCEL."
