Default Transmission issue

Hi Honda-Tech. I have a lowered automatic 99 Civic Lx sedan that I drive slower than that guy that drives Ms. Daisy. Recently we sent the cylinder head out to get resurfaced. Then we put the car back together, now it has alot more power. So when I first start the car now, the transmission shifts at 2500 rpm, this is normal. Then after maybe 5 minutes of driving, the transmission shifts at 4000 rpm. Please help me out. What could be the culprit? This is killing my mpg.

adjust the TV cable that you likely removed when the cyl. head was removed.
