Default EM1 With B20B Questions....

Hello herro and whats up readers everywhere

I just picked up my 2nd honda in a long time, and quite frankly i dont know anything about it. As stated above its a real 99 Civic Si with a B20B. 171k on the clock and roughly 40k on the motor. I have a few questions and pictures to go about it.

so when i got it the seller told me the ECU was not the one for the motor i forgot what he had said but i took a pic of the ECU. it idles a little high like 1.5K or so. The transmission is alright.... not really 5th gear pops out, but the kid told me it could be the clutch. could it? probably not ive never had problems with new clutches throwing out gears but hey who knows.

i dont know how to I.D. The Ecu but since i cant upload pic's yet im gonna lay the numbers down

37820-p2t-a12
Z4 1170-204424

also there is an open vacuum port on top of the valve cover. whats up with that where does that go connected to?

Those are a few questions i have hope the forum can help me answer them, feel free to PM me if needed. thank you in advance.

the p2t is the civic si ecu for a b16a. you will want to get a chipped ecu for b20 with an obd harness adapter.

5th gear pop sounds more like a trans issue

can you put a pic of the valve cover vent? sounds like one that goes to an intake manifold or the intake system.

Get a B20 ecu, or go to a chipped P28 with a harness. You cannot chip an OBD2 ecu.

My bet is a transmission issue.

The vent is most likely the breather tube. It goes to the intake tube. Not 100% necessary IMO.

Just buy a p28 and have it chipped, or buy a p28 equivalent that's already chipped from Phearable or something.
