Default DOHC D-series Posible????

It probably can't be done or at least I never hear of anyone done it, but is it possible to swap an old Acura integra D-series DOHC head on a D16y8 block? I'm just curious because if it can be done I love to try just because no one else is...

not remotely possible, but even if it was, what would be your reasoning other than being different?

Yeah, most cars are ruined when people want to "be different"

Then try it. Because according to your reasoning, you want to be different. But if someone has already done it then you're too late and then you're just jumping on a bandwagon.

Personally, I never understood the need to fit in nor the counter culture need to be different.

I don't think so my man, but I did go to school with a kid that argued with me that you could put a B16 Head on a DY8 Block so what do I know

It's been done. There was a guy on here a few years ago that was revving a d13 with a zc head to 10k+ in europe...every picture the guy posted looked like fluids were leaking from all sorts of places but it was on there and running.

Anything is possible. I could take the head off an LS1 motor and put it on a D14. Would I want to spend that much time in the machine shop? **** no.

Cars aren't something you want to "be different" with. Thousands have come before you, and thousands have spent time and money to find out what works, what doesn't, what makes power, and what turns into a ticking time bomb.

If you want to be different, get out of Hondas. Get out of cars period. It doesn't matter what make or model you're working with - someone HAS done it before, or everyone realizes it's just too ****ing stupid to even consider.

Yeah, an obscure as hell EDM motor. That sounds like a great idea.

OP, if you oh so desperately want DOHC, get a D16ZC, or a B16A/2. Personally, I'd say leave the car alone.

Yeah the edm rover engine was pretty much on par with the jdm blacktop dohc zc. They made 130hp and 108ft lbs tq. It would be fairly easy to swap in any 88-00 civic. They are "old" engines now though, and were known common for going threw distributors, and a number of them burned oil (most from age i think) Here is one from my 1st swap back in 1996

I was being sarcastic, but thank you for reinforcing my sarcasm. Your install doesn't look half bad, though.

It bolts right into the car, how bad can it look?

For any doubters, http://www.d-series.org/forums/engin...16a6-pics.html

I've been waiting to do it myself. Things are currently in motion for me.
