EF Civic Stereo Install Cig Lighter Help!! no juice at harnesses
1991 hatchback, this car hasnt had a stereo in it for 3 years.. i believe the previous owner stated the previous owner before him wired the radio to the clock in the center console.. Any way the problem is that i am getting no juice at my 12V constant power(white/blue) nor my Ignition aka switched 12v supply (white green ) when i have a test light hooked up and the key in the I or two position... I checked fuses 12 and 17 and they both were good and are getting power to them...Furthermore the Cigarette lighter doesnt work either... What can be causing this problem? Im hoping its something simple.. i have multimeter and test light..

SomeBODY PLEASE HELP ME!! Checked all the fuses and they are good, under dash and under hood.... Still no power at all the the Radio Harness or Cig Lighter but there is power to the Yellow Red Wire for the Cig lighter relay that mounts on the console frame behind ashtray..
Ignition swith /battery should be the yellow and red wire.. Check link http://www.modifiedlife.com/car-ster...9-honda-civic/
Maybe can help,,,I just installed my stock radio today

bypass the original harness and find a 12v constant and an ignition source in the fuse panel. This will eliminate all headaches you are having. Installing stereos is what I do best lol
This is what I am about to do.. do you recommend installing a 10 amp fuse in the lines of both these constant and ignition sources? is there a way i can also get cigarette lighter to work also?
Yeah man. The clock was wired into the radio. I don't know what the F... they were thinking. I had to go through the harness under the dash and get rid of an aftermarket alarm which was a rats nest. Around that time I took the radio out. I didn't think the radio harness was that hacked.
Honestly you want to check for voltage at the fuse box in front of wire (fuse side) and coming off the back of the fuse. If you have this then follow the wire and check for breaks etc checking periodically for voltage along the wire. If there is constant power then it becomes a ground issue in most cases. Either way if you choose to just re wire to the fuse box that is perfectly acceptable.

^^ I would have done that if i had more time, makes sense, there has to be a ground issue, I jus made a small sub harness off fuse box....radio and cig lighter are working now..would like to find the real issue sometime eventually.. thanks guys
