Icon6 97 hatch:built not bought!

Ive been in the "honda scene" for quite awhile now, but have completly been out of it for almost 3 years. I decided it was time for another turbo built gsr.i started looking for an eg" coupe because my last build was one and i loved it to death, but i realized i wanted to do something different this time. so i began looking for a ek hatch.I recently found this car and decided it was going to be my project.

i found the car locally on craigslist and made a deal with the guy before i even saw the car in person...
needless to say it was not near as nice of condition as the pictures had made it seem. i went to pick it up, with only knowing that 2 nd gear didnt work... haha yea right
so i got there to pick it up and the car was far from what i was expecting, car was a salvage title. had rust, body damage everywhere. i decided to take it on because im a body tech and the body was nothing to repair in my eyes(thankful to be blesded with this talent haha)
so i made it home, smoking most of the way.. it was a 2 hour drive back! so i get home and realize there is a hole in the "rebuild gsr tranny", so started to tear into in... and here is my progress
car came with and ls swap that was completly done the wrong way, came with 17" wheels and lowered on ebay coilovers... yay!

this is what it looked like the day i brought it home. which was about a month ago. the body is pretty rough and is needing completly reworked. so begins the cosmetic session of the build...

looks like you bought a built car, it was just built very poorly.

good luck fixing it.

the only good thing it had done to it was the fact it came with b series mounts, it was more half assed than build. but thank you

I mean it had an LS swap in it, which is not inherent to civics, but i see what you're saying. Post some updated pics when you get working

color update!!!
im gonna wait a week or so to wet sand and buff it, i hate it when the clear shrinks back and you have to re-buff!
still need to shoot the bumpers, mirrors, duckbill wing, and rocker moldings.
painting the door handles and side moldings flat black.
came out pretty good, my exhaust system in my garage is amazing but it moves so much air that some dirt always lands in the clear, but no biggie will look awesome when done!

really sick car, but to be honest, i'd have probably left the LS wheels on there to deter thieves, but also just looking at the car in that color with those factory acura wheels i'd never EVER, even has a honda enthusiast, expect THAT to be under the hood, i just love the idea of someone underestimating me.

for example these dumb *** rednecks wanted to race me in their duramax turbo diesel GMC 2500HD and i was in my buddies ugly *** 240SX that at most had nice wheels on it (i know i'm contradicting what i say but you get the point...) but the rest of the car looked like ***, however it put out 400+WHP on pump gas with no NOS... needless to say they bit off FAR more than they could chew.

yea i hear ya, i still have the ls wheels too. and its parked in the garage every night, its not going anywhere haha. i also live in a small town and country boys like to mess with hondas, they all learn the hard way. and i have actually made 2 country boys switch to hondas, they love them more than the old 350 they used to roll with. haha
thanks for the comments guys!
