crank pulley fell off, can it cause my oil pump to go bad?
hey whats up.Well my crank pulley came off after going over a bump pretty fast.My question is will it cause the oil pump to go bad? the pulley fell off about 200-500 ft from my house. i did not step on it after the pulley came off i babied it back to my house and parked it.Also im thinking if my oil were bad i would have known since i put the pulley back on and moved it around a couple times also took it on a drive once but it was only about a mile. However during that mile i did let the car hit boost and redline a couple of times.i did buy a oil pressure gauge but its a ebay one cant figure out the wiring so im thinking i will just save some money to buy a autometer one.In the mean time i would love to finally get to drive my car again.
I don't think it would harm the oil pump at all. Crank pulley just affects the power steering, alternator, and AC pulley, as well as balancing the crankshaft, the oil pump is attached to the block, as long as your timing belt didn't come loose too (which you would know it did lol), you should be fine.
But I'm still learning myself, if anyone wants to verify this, and I would have that oil pressure gauge installed and working before the turbo kit was even put on.

I think your biggest issue is figuring out how the hell your crank pully fell off in the first place and to make sure it does not happen again.
I dont see it affecting your oil pump ..Maybe the seal..but not the pump itself

im sure oil pressure was fine before this incident, or something would have happen while driving 100 miles back to my house.I'm asking cause i hear about aftermarket pulleys ruining oilpumps cause their not balanced
i shot it in with a impact gun but the impact gun look as if it was low on power. i didnt think anything of it so this time i torque to the right spec
