Ignition switch problem?
Hey guys, I need some help trying to find out whats wrong with my wife's civic, a 1995 EX coupe. So here it goes.. When turning the ignition switch to the ON position, there are no cluster lights (check engine, battery, etc.) but the door chime sound goes off and the radio comes on. Turning to the crank position, the motor cranks and all cluster lights come on, motor sounds healthy and like it wants to start. But as soon as turned back to the ON position, nothing again. Weird thing I found out was that if the key is held in the CRANK position, the motor starts, stays running (around 1500 rpms) and the starter does not grind. Once let go back to ON, nothing, back to square one. Any ideas what it could be? Ignition switch, alarm going bad, ECU, relay? Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks!
