Default 92 cx hatch w/ gsr swap- code 9

Alright guys I've done some research and haven't turned up anything useful yet. The code is intermittent which made it hell even being able to figure out which code it was. After reading the issues people have with this code, it seems as though all of their cars run terrible if the code is present. Mine on the other hand runs normal with no loss of power. The only thing I've noticed since it started was an intermittent low idle that comes and goes. The low idle first started the first time the check engine appeared. Like I said otherwise the car runs fine.

I have checked for loose connections on the ecu at b11 and b12, as well as at the shock tower plugs and dizzy plugs.

I'm just confused as to why I'm not seeing any power loss and as to why it is an intermittent issue. I feel like if it was a usual suspect like a bad cap or rotor or the whole dizzy it would be a constant issue and not intermittent and would cause some sort of power loss which it is not.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

No meter to check the resistance but hopefully I can borrow one in the next few days.. And my first instinct was to try a different dizzy but I have no friends to borrow one from and since it's intermittent I would have to borrow it for days to see if that was the problem.. And I really don't wanna drop that kind of cash if that might not be the issue. I was hoping there was something I hadn't thought of yet. I plan on doing a new cap and rotor tomorrow and inspecting the inside of the dizzy.

Cap and rotor didn't help... While the CEL was on sometimes when I tap the dizzy the CEL blinks on and off so I'm thinking it's the dizzy

No surprise. A bad cap and rotor would not throw code 9.

Well when I google searched it (like everyone says to do before posting a question), all of the search results said to try the cap and rotor first. Maybe it was just wishful thinking on their part.

Anyway, I swapped dizzys with a friend last night who just purchased a brand new one so we shall see if that does the trick.

There's a lot of bad information on the internet.

That is very true my man. Very true. The upside is I've completed a partial tune up now lol.. So far I haven't had any CELs after making the 30 mile trip to my university. Fingers are crossed.
