Automotive A/C
Ok here is some background info. When I bought my car a 1991 Honda Accord, it now has 173,000 miles the AC didn't work, so I bought a retrofit kit and filled it with R134a and oil and I added a can of AC STOP LEAK. That is what im wondering. The ac worked for 3 days and then it stopped, it ran out of refrigerant. The compressor still runs but Im just wondering if it is worth to fix it now since I added the STOP LEAK. I have heard that once you add the stop leak the system is done.
But here is the kicker, I called my local AC shop and they said as long as the compressor kicks on it is still good. They gave me an estimate of $82.95 to flush the lines of the stop leak, Find the leak, and 1LB of refrigerant. Does this sound about right?
I think the leak is coming from either the condenser or the o-rings to it. Is it worth it,

Good question. I never used stop leak before and if I ever found a leak, I would replace the part in my past experiences. Seems like those "Stop Leak" products are quick money products.
