Wrong belt or wrong alternator???
I'm trying to get a belt to finish up my LS swap into my EJ coupe, I took honda part numbers to the store and everywhere I've looked says I need a Four Rib belt, but my alternator pulley is for 3 ribs???
So is there a belt for it or did the guy I got the motor from put a civic alternator on the motor or something?
If I do have the correct alternator I guess I'll go to a different store and get a belt.

If you don't know what you have with the swap then how did you take part numbers to the auto store? They're only going to give you the part based off of the info you gave them.
I looked up the part numbers for a 95 integra alternator belt online and took those to the store. I also had them look up the belt for a 95 integra, thats what year the motor I have came off of.
Regardless the crank pully needs a 4 rib belt, and the alternator needs a 3 rib belt?
Is this normal? I tried a 4 rib belt at first because all of the part numbers said it was right and it kind of hangs over the edges on the alternator pulley.

Are you sure about that?
I'm almost positive there are no civic's with 3 ribbed belts for the alternator, or any other component for that matter.
If your alternator has 3 ribs, you need a 4 ribbed belt. 4 ribs, you need a 5 ribbed belt. etc etc. You are NEVER going to have the same amount of ribs for both the belt and the component, that would defeat the purpose of the design.
This may sound stupid, but make sure you are lining up the belt on the correct part of the crank pulley.

Well I have no idea what I have then cause I have a 3 ribbed belt from a 91 civic that fits the alternator but doesnt fit the crank pulley, and is also to short.
To be really clear the alternator on my car has 2 ribs, so I need a 3 ribbed belt. The crank pulley has 3 ribs so I need a 4 rib belt. This is where my confusion is at. I'm guessing the guy I bought the motor from at one point put a alternator from a junkyard onto it and it wasnt correct.
