Knock sensors? Quick and easy question.
OK. So the old, worn out, leaking from every hole H22A is out of my '97 Prelude. The F22B DOHC is buttoned up and going in today. I have everything sorted out and good to go.
When I was swapping sensors over, I noticed the knock sensor on the H22 was broken. The knock sensor on the F22B is in great shape. Both use different hole sizes. Can I just hook up the F22B knock sensor? They are both one wire hook up, I have a hard time imagining that one would send a different signal than the other. They just use different connectors so I would have to take the connector off of the F22 harness and stick on my H22 harness right quick. I already swapped the oil sensor over from the H22A and took the lower plug out at the back of the block and installed it on the F22B.
That's all!
Thanks.

It should be fine. Give it a try the worst that will happen is that it will throw a code for the knock sensor. I doubt it will be too senstive, which would cause the ecu to pull timing all the time.

Yeah, someone I work with needed one bad and used a sensor from a 06 civic LX in a D series, just put a different connector on the harness.
That's what I was figuring. Thanks guys. I swapped the connectors and put the engine and transmission back in the car today. Hopefully running by next weekend
