Default ImportTUner Article... Preventing Rock Chips in bumper

I read an import tuner article about some company that makes these transparent stickers that apply to your cars front bumper to absorb impacts from rocks while driving... Anyone know anything about this ??

I've heard of this. They put clear plastic on your bumber, headlights and the front of the hood. A professional cuts it to fit. It costs a couple hundred dollars. Great idea to keep cars rock chip free, esp. track cars.

If you are a fanatic about keeping your paint perfect, this is about the only way to prevent the front bumper/hood/headlights from getting pitted from bugs and rocks and other daily road hazards. I have heard that it works really well and if professionally applied is almost invisible.

i remember that product before... its probably best when the car is new.. that is if we're talking about the same product.. some kind of transparent sheets/tape.. (whatever the name) would be installed on your front bumpre/fender/hood..

end result.. might look retarded cause you would be able to see the corners.. and don't know how good it will do once you take it off.

my suggestion.. wash/wax regularly, repaint the front end in few years

This is common thing I saw when I worked at Porsche. Some looked invisible, others were starting to show it's age. The blue's were a bit iffy at times. 3M makes the stuff I believe. Not sure about the price, but I gotta speak my mind about the subject. You guys gotta stop being so ****.

Screw it, just slap some decals all over the front bumper.

fyi... bumper = wear item.

after the impact with my garage.... my front bumper was turned into a blast zone... it looks like crap.

Whatever happened to that black 94-97 front end you manhandled onto the front of your car?
