B16a needs alternator and I was just wondering if the two are interchangeable.

He's right, OBD2 plug is square instead of round. You can splice a square plug on though.

If your B16A is like mine, I had to use an alternator for a DA Integra because of the bracket they used on OBD1 B16As. I made a thread all about it but I can't find it because the search function here sucks.

Only thing I've heard is there are two types of alternator (not sure but something like Denso, Mitsubishi) and they don't cross over.
