Default B16A 99 Civic Si FAILED SMOG

What's up everyone,

I'm new to the site and I live in North LA. I just took my car to the smog shop today and I failed the
-NO (PPM) 15mph Mine read:1952 and max is 487 @25mph
-NO (PPM) 25mph READ: 1811 max: 774 @ 25mph
-HC (PPM) 15mph read: 116 max: 66
-HC (PPM) 25mph read: 27 max: 49

Could anyone please help me figure out what's wrong? Or why they measured like this.

How many miles on the engine? What mods do you have on the car? Are you in northern Louisiana or North Los Angeles?

o2 sensor seems fine, no CEL on and it. Going to check the pcv valve soon, just need to google how to see if it works. I've been reading and it could be that I have an exhaust leak right before the cat, I took out the donut and haven't replaced it.

When was your last full tuneup? Plugs, wires, cap, rotor, oil, PCV, air filter clean, timing check?

The cams are not affecting the emissions from what my mechanic told me and It has new plugs, sparks, cap, rotor, fresh oil change but I do need to check the PCV and timing. Do you guys think it's the donut right before the cat causing this?

your o2 sensor does not have to throw a CEL for it to be reading incorrectly

Yes, not having a crush gasket in the exhaust can cause problems, especially if your crush gasket is near the O2 sensor. The air mixture from the leak can royally mess up the AFR's your ECU sees.

did u ever get the prob fixed? 02 on a obd2b will catch a lazy bank 1 n bank 2 o2 when u get a bank 2 02 code its sign of a bad cat but if u hav no codes n ur Co levels are okay check ur spark make sure u use Honda aftermarket doesnt cut it with hondas! also do a carbon valve cleaner lik a seafoam or vacuflush nox is igntion misfire or preignition caused by carbon build up on pistons n valves most the time and hc is mis bured fuel ur allowed to retard the timing 2degrees from 16 so try that it might bring hc down but check vacume leaks n spark good luck
