I think it would be a good idea to have some sort of rating system for fabrication suppliers.
Does the forum have that?

As you all don't care, I have had some good and bad experiences. Sometimes when you get burned by a company you try to resolve it quietly. When you get lied to over and over I do believe it is good to vent it in public. It shows the seller there are consequences greater than burning one customer, and can help others avoid similar fates.

I know way back everyone was upset about a certain flange supplier not being able to fill orders yet still taking new ones. Seeing all the drama here in the forums helped others avoid delayed projects and getting money tied up. It would be nice to have a "cleaner" way of doing this.

BTW, still have not received a housing from Tial, although they were paid something like 3.5 months ago for one and I am told they have them on the shelf by the forum poster.......

Simple. Don't buy from distributors or manufacturers that don't stock the products they are selling. Way too many drop ship (stock nearly nothing) companies these days.

 

screw a rating system! Use common sense and go with companies with long term reputations. They're almost never the cheapest...

A lot of companies form the past would have topped an HT ratings list...and then 2 months later he's taking your money and giving HT a sob story, or buying crystalmeth. lol
