Check Engine Light Question
When i bought my car it had the check engine light on and no radio. i did get it checked out at that time and it had ond codes for no cat and bad o2 sensors. when i decided to put a radio, and this before i fixed the cat, i discovered that he 7.5a fuse was blown.
I replaced the fuse and cat and i cleared the codes but now i keep getting a cell and it happens like clock work. at exactly 50 miles after i reset the ecu. is sime to this post:

I found it on yahoo:
Honda Civic CEL - Cannot figure this out!!?
Specs:
1998 Honda Civic LX Sedan Automatic
Recent fuel filter replacement
Recent oil change
Recent ATF flush
Has quite a number on the odometer - but was taken care of and runs very well.
Problem:
I recently discovered a short with the radio by touching the battery's ground and getting a big spark; then taking out the radio's fuse and getting nothing.
For a while I have been driving without the radio fuse in and there were no problems what so ever.
I wanted to use the radio, so I put the fuse back in and went on the road. This is what happens EVERY TIME the fuse is in:
I start the engine, go about 200 yards, then the engine and accelerator slow down like it's gonna stall. Then it jumps right back to normal. Repeat 3-4x. Then it runs fine from then on. After about 50 miles, the CEL clicks on (happens every time).
I checked and the code is P0171, System running too lean.
I pull the radio fuse out and BAM the CEL INSTANTLY vanishes. VERY strange huh?
When the fuse is out, the car doesn't stutter at all and I NEVER get a CEL light.
Soooooo...I pulled out the Pioneer radio (came with car when I bought it last year) and everything was wired correctly. All fuses were good and there were no irrelevant wires plugged in.
Can ANYBODY explain this or give me an idea?
All I want is to drive normally with a radio
Thanks!!

Aftermarket radio? Maybe someone did a hack job into the ignition on wires, etc? Maybe pull the radio and hook that up straight to the battery, no issue than the radio is good with no internal shorting. That would leave the wiring job that the radio feeds through - I would check the wiring for shorts or wrong connections, etc.
Sounds like you may have wired the radio wrong. i doubt that the radio is bad or the fuse for the rad would have blown. You may have spliced into the wrong circuit... Does it change anything if you completely remove the radio and directly wire it to the battery? if so its in your current wiring configuration.
