s2000 AP1 rear diff help
I need advice. I have an 01 S2000 and in the past month have broken 2 rear differentials drifting.
I looked and looked and all i can find to beef up the rear end is the 300zx diff swap. I DO NOT WANT TO DO THAT.
anyone have any advise or information that would help me build a stronger diff? much appriciated.

The easiest way not to break the diff is to be easier on the diff. Are you doing this at drifting competition or just on the street? You shouldn't really be breaking diffs on the street unless you're wheel hopping or REALLY effing abusing them.
Don't do driveline locks to initiate a drift. Nissan diffs can handle that....these can't. I wish Honda wouldn't have built such a shitty diff....but whatever.
As far as equipment goes, diff collars help. A lot of the diff breakage comes from all the movement in the bushings. There are slightly stronger diff housings made...but if you broke 2 in a month, they're not going to help you.
Drive more gently. Or just buy a car with a stronger diff that can take that type of abuse. These cars never lended themselves very well to drifting.

use the r200 diff, find a shop that make make a mounting bracket cause inline pros is $3500!
or buy a dif building kit for the s2k, but it still wont be good enough to beat on constantly.
FYI drive ur car hard or dont buy a sports car. to all the hater says whining about u drifting. the car can do it if build correctly.

well obviously its not built correctly...and s2k does not make a good drift car period, i dont care how much money you put in it...so, you are wrong...its not about "hating" its about knowing a platform and what it does good and what it doesnt do good
why shouldnt a honda s2000 drift?
and i keep cracking pinion teeth. i mean my first diff had 120k on it and the second one is just now making noise.

and this makes no sense at all. people drift s2000 all the time. if you dont have a good input then shut the **** up. i dont want your stupid opinion.
Learn how to quote people and do it all in one post. Count the amount of S2000s in formula D. Two! in the entire history of formula D and they BOTH dropped out. One of the drivers started drifting a SCION! The fact that they took a FWD car and made it a RWD drift car after a S2000 failed shows you how bad the car is for drifting. They had even moved the motor up 2 inches to give it a shitty weight distribution and used a RX7 steering rack along with 20,000 dollars in other mods. Did you notice it cant get angles like a 240, ae86 or 350z? The S2000 was NOT made to drift. Does the fact that you keep braking the car not prove to you it was NOT made to drift? I know people who road race multiple times a year and HAVNT broke a single thing. Road racing is on a track FYI.
If you want to drift buy something cheap like a 240 or older rear wheel drive car; the parts will be cheaper and the car is a lot better for drifting it you have not notice by the amount of people using them for drifting. I can tell you don't want to put money into your car to make it better if you are willing to pass up a part that will fix this problem you are having. 3500 isnt bad at all for custom axles, drive shaft and the kit to mount the dif you can find for a few hundred dollars. You have a two options and they are buy the Inline Pro kit or FullBlown. Then you can drift all you want with a kit rated for over 1000rwhp.

Might want to look into an engine torque damper. I had one on my S. Didn't blow my diff doing 6-7k launches every weekend and the occasional clutch kick to get sideways. Maybe I was just lucky, but it never allowed the car to wheel hop. Just a suggestion.
holy mother.
