Default Motor Mount's

Got a gsr with what it looks to be all OEM mounts, and am missing the driver side torque mount. My 3 bolt motor mount is shot to hell so i am thinking about replacing it with a hasport mount (individual), is that possible? also should i just buy the torque mount from autozone?

You can run the hasport, also you dont need the torque mounts, lots of people remove them and run stiffer mounts to compensate, thats what im doing.

please dont perpetuate this internet myth about the torque mounts

stiffer mounts do not compensate for not running torque mounts

Oh? Thats funny because in the countless hondas ive ridden/driven without torque mounts, drove fine with no problems whatsoever for years. Half of them
have stock motor mounts.

Granted, the extra support doesnt hurt, but so its the same way with countless other things we do to our cars.

That means either the stock mounts are new or have been modified the ghetto way to make em stiffer. I'm rocking stock mounts and without the torque mounts my motor rocks like a ****.

Or you've driven weak *** **** cars.

Stock as stock can be man. i guess all cars are different. The ones I am referring to were a h22 swapped eg, ls swapped ek, Type-R ek, GSR ek, and a bunch more. If the mounts did fail, I can definitely see that happening, its all in the way you drive and how often you launch too.

Torque mounts are definitely a good idea with softer mounts and just for safety reasons. Although I run the stiffest hasport mounts in my integra without torque mounts with no problems.

did the block bracket pull out of the block? yes

would torque mounts prevented some if not most of the damage? yes

this is not a debate over whether torque mounts are optional or not

THEY ARE NOT OPTIONAL

Internet myth people. Internet myth

something gets passed along/around long enough it gets taken as truth

if honda did not want torque mounts to be present or there was no need for them they would not have put them on the car in the first place

they are there for 2 reasons. 1st to keep the engine from torquing 2nd to keep the engine from entering the driver compartment in the even of an accident

You forgot reason 3, to keep engine from torquing more then Extension Change rod can compensate for.

Stop wasting your time, your not going to change the mind of "no-minds" untill it hits their pocketbook.

With the kind of thinking that goes on in the minds of those hackers, you wonder why there are doors on their cars, I mean the car would run fine, with out any problems, for years, right? 94
