Dunlop Star Spec Z1 - too noisy
Hello guys!
I have 205/50/15 on my Civic.
I bought them last year and am very satisfied with their performance as on the street in dry and wet as on autoX events.
I put them a couple of days ago. They have about 5-6K miles on them from last summer.
They are extremely loud now. Is it normal as they get old or it might be the alignment. I don't have any vibrations on the steering wheel though.
I did alignment last year when install them.

Hmm... they shouldn't be making that much noise in that case. If they were stored resting on the contact patch, I'd say they might be a bit out of round. That just takes a bit of use to run-out, though. Have you done any spirited driving with them yet?
We'd expect some rubber cracking (at worst) if the tires were stored in below freezing temperatures, but the colder temperatures should not have caused the road noise issue. I agree with Matt and would recommend taking the car out for a nice long highway drive to get the rubber nice an warm for a sustained period of time (30 min ?) and then see if that helps .
No not yet, I just install them last week.
@Doc
They were stored at room temp. at my house. On top of two of them there was a sound speaker (35 lb.) during the winter. I doubt this is the problem though...
They were inflated to about 30-32 psi.
Thanks to both of you. So I'll try to get them hot in next days.
So storing them on the sidewall is proper, right?

To be honest just one of them makes a lot of noise (front-left). And I feel slight vibrations at about 70 miles/h. I might do alignment lately, I don't know...
