Default did I blow a head gasket?

I have a b18b1. I was driving down the freeway on low gas. Car started bogging down like it was running out of gas. While driving it died and I coasted to ths roadside. It started right back up but was still spuddering and boggin down until I got to the gas station. I filled up with Chevron and started it. I noticed constant smoke coming out of the tailpipe. I checked the oil, no water on the dipstick. Dont see anything on the motor. I put in some fuel injector cleaner thinking it could be gunk from the fuel tank. I drove it home. No bogging down but still smoking. Once i parked at home there was no smoke at idle. Started it two days later and it was smoking at idle. Ill check again after work. Any suggestions?

No CEL. No overheating. White smoke.

Check your coolant level anyway. might be slowly burning coolant.
and watch your oil level. oil usually doesn't burn white but you never know.
just to cover all your bases you are absolutely sure it is smoking out the exhaust pipe and not just some poor critter or plastic bag that is stuck on your exhaust?

Did you check your temp gauge, has it gone up? or past half way?

Sure you are not burning oil? Try smelling the exhaust, see if smells sweet or like gas? (caution do not keep your nose down there too long just quick sniff)

Also, pull a plug or two and see if any oil or they are wet.

If he said the smoke was white....why would he be burning oil?

Burnt oil = blue
Burnt coolant = white
Too much gas = black

Sometimes normal exhaust will be a whitish color, esp in the morning.

That's just water vapor/condensation. Not oil.

Yes...true...and once the condensation is burned off why would it still be smoking white? And get thicker when more gas is applied? hint hint

Mine does it then settles down.

He should watch it after it starts and if it continues white smoke.

Not intermittent. It consistently happens when he's driving/has the car under load. Inconsistent would be if it happens at random, non-reproducible, circumstances like every once in a while and at different times.
