I would highly recommend the Kicker over the Audiobahn. There is no comparison in the quality of construction. The Audiobahn is a beast and if powered correctly I'm pretty sure can make more SPL than the Kicker. Aside from sheer SPL though I would give the nod to the Solo in all other regards.

Audiobahn is cheaply engineered. We use to sell them for two years and now we sell Digital Audio which is Audiobahn under another name. They use marketing hype and bullshit like giant wood boxes and white gloves (so you don't smear chrome speaker baskets) to attract customers.

When they work, Audiobahn/Digital Audio products work pretty well. However we get a considerably higher percentage of returns from them then from most other brands.

If you want to buy the 12" L7 feel free to give me a call.

ditto, never really been a fan of audiobahn, had friends tha thad too many problems with them. I 'd go with the L7 dual 2 ohm voice coil though( run them in series). If I remember correctly the 12"L7's can handle 350 or 375 rms per voice coil. You could get the kicker 800.2 with the gain down 1/4 of the way it'll prolly put out around 700 rms plenty for that sub.

At one point I had thought of using Audiobahn. There nice look caught my eye, but when I started asking questions people said that they really sucked. They might look real nice with all that chrome and stuff but that is form not function. My bro has a Pair of L7's in has Lancruiser and they bump hard. Wer are running a my old Z300c2 Zapco and have them configured at 1 ohm. We will probably reconfigure the setup to run a higher impedance when he gets a bigger amp but for now they sound real good.

yeah the IDMAX is a pretty impressive sub especially for the daily driver whose also in to comps. My friend has 2 IDMAX 12s and 2 BMF 1000ds and its loud as hell. Also Id recommend subs like DD, Xfire XTs, Shocker xtremes, brahmas, RE, etc. Those are mostly all out bass subs though.

the IDMAX is the newest woofer from Image Dynamics...thier most popular sub was the IDQ, the also made the ID, IDW, and IDSPL. There are multiple versions of each driver floating about. ID is also known for their HLCD's as well as the IDQ8, a great dedicated midbass driver.

The IDMAX is one of the "new breed" of subwoofers...people call them SQL woofers....excellent SQ, but can also get very loud. They have now hit the third revision the V3....they are just starting to ship now. Power handling is in the neighborhood of 1kW, but the new V3's have increased efficiency....400-600W is all you need....you are looking at a mounting depth around 8-9inches...I can't remember the exact #, and a box size hovering around 1-1.5 cubic feet sealed. Those specs are for the 12" version...it's the only size available right now...the 10 is the next to be released....followed by the 16"....yes, 16, not 15!!

MSRP for the 12: $449

Here's some photos of the new woofers:

Unfortunately, thier website is fairly limited and seems amateur...I guess they have better things to do...like making great products!!

Image makes great subs, I have had numerous 10's from them for years now, and have always stuck to them. Have one now, pushing it with 400 watts of clean Nakamichi power, and man, IT SOUNDS GREAT
