dc integra short shifter?
ok i just got a short shifter for my car. its just a cheap ebay one just wanted to see how a short shifter felt before i spend the money on a name brand incase i dont like it. anyways it came with 2 small washers/spacers i was wondering if anyone knew if i put one on each side of the bearings or if they both go on a certain side? i am asking because i looked up alot of installs and seen ones that came with spacers but these are just basicly just a washer.
all b series short shifters are the pretty much the same so u did right by getting a cheap one. all companys do is take a cheap one and etch their logo on it anyways. and im pretty sure the washers just go on both sides. one on the left side and one on the right. they also sell an upgraded eurothane for it to that tightens it up alot also.
Just don't go slamming gears with that ebay shifter. My brother's DC had one in it when he bought it and it snapped off in his hand on an aggressive gear change! I just got a B&M one off eBay and am really satisfied with it for the ~$50 I paid.
To your question, one washer goes on each side of the shifter usually My B&M came with three which allowed you to slightly clock the shifter one way or the other. I suppose you could do something similar with additional washers if you wanted maybe...
