Default S2k Build just what info/opinion

I bought an s2k with 48k miles.
I want to do the supra tranny conversion.
I bought the full blown kit.....
I bought 6766 T4 a/r.81 PTE
I'm not sure what Irs diff i need to buy, I'm looking for advice from other sources that have done this. Do you have to cut anything off the car?
Ems will be AEM, as much as i dislike it.....I guess i prefer an ems i'm familular with.
Pics of rear end?

Goal with this is a 10sec street car for now then go into full drag next year sometime......So i want to build it around that idea.

Input?

hey max there is a thread on s2ki on the 8.8 swap just 2 fill u in the 8.8 irs explorer rear end will work with the mustang cover i see no use in buying the $1000 cobra rear end when your just gonna change the guts anyways, some people have used thunder bird axles with spacers, dss can modify the t bird axles to fit rite for around 700 alittle cheaper than the 2.9s, a drag car go full blown conversion 5.9s

i built my own ford 8.8 conversion.. used a t-bird housing with an explorer rear cover, had dss make the axles and driveshaft. I have about $1300 in the whole rear end setup. It was pretty easy to do.

The AEM series 2 is the way to go. Carey Bales street setup which was a completely street driven full weight and optioned ride on pump gas and drag radials ran in the high 9's and the Real Street S2000 is running in the mid 9's with an internally stock engine in there street driven S2000. Both cars are running AEM management and components, the systems are very flexible and really have those cars flying. I would suggest a PM to either of those guys for more detail about their setups.

They cost as much as a b series dog box and handle way more power! Its still an OEM Tranny!
I'll save up and buy a brand new one from Toyota!

Why don't you go with a G-force tranny? no need to worry about missed shifts or 1-2-1 shifts
