Default Two Lug Nuts On One Tire Driveable?

Ok, this is kind of a dumb question and its probably not ideal or the right thing to do.

but

Can I drive with just two lug nuts on one of my wheels? They are across from each other and its a 4x100

Missing one lug nut you could get by with, missing 2 on a 4 bolt wheel is just asking for trouble. Don't even try it, you'll regret it later.

Damn! Wtf.....2 on each wheel?? Here's how that would go down with me:

Wheel 1- "Aw crap, broke a stud off"......."DAMMIT, BROKE ANOTHER ONE OFF! (throws lug wrench)
Wheel 2- (calmed down a bit, got my **** together and started on the second wheel) "ANOTHER BROKEN STUD!!!!!" (commence beating everything I see with a lug wrench and throwing leftover parts/anything in arms reach)
Wheel 3-..........still throwing stuff and going through a temper tantrum from wheel 2

Not condoning this, but if you have to, obviously make sure they are diagnally across from eachother, not on the same wheel, and torque them down more than normal spec.

Hopefully the studs are not stripped, as those are a pain to change compared to just a nut. The sensible solution would be to have someone drive you to the parts store.

Don't do it. The 2 missing lugs are across from each other, as you drive the wheel WILL slightly flex side to side and WILL break your other 2 studs. Might happen on the first trip, might last a while, but it will happen. You'll mess up a lot of stuff on your car when that wheel comes off.

I decided i am not going to do it, but it tell me

My dad was breaking my lug nuts(has just 3 studs), he got 2 that were across from each other off, but then he try to take the last one off and he can feel it stripped and instead of taking it off he just retighten them.

Does that mean i been driving on 2 or 3 lug nut studs

Fix the studs properly. Sometimes you can grind one of the corners and work it into place in the hub.

My guess is that someone used an impact wrench without a torque bar and overtightened them... more than once. I am the only owner on my GSR and can thread the lugs by hand since they were never abused.

Even if it feels like it's fudging up the threads, just keep unscrewing till it comes off, buy new ones and put them on, the threads will be fine.

Don't worry, I had to do that to a car at work the other day, they were hard to get off with the impact gun so I knew the threads were a little messed up, I threw new lug nuts on, they went on fairly easy and they cleaned up the threads. Not the first time I did that either, so don't sweat it, you will be fine.

For some reason hondas are bad about the threads stripping or the threads gauling up. So Now everytime i take a wheel off i put a little grease on each stud before i put the lugnuts back on. Since ive done that i havnt had anymore problems. Just a little tip.

Ebonics chat bot? Completely incoherent bump on a 6 year old post.
He probably would have been better off staying in jail.
