1 to 4 wire O2 sensor conversion in a d15z6
Hello Vtec Brigade, i am writing for first time but i ve been reading your conversations for years. I 'm owner of a EUDM Civic EK3 equipped with a d15z6 engine. This engine has a Vtec-e system like the d16y5.
To my problem, i ve replaced the cracked oem manifold-catalyst with the popular 4-2-1 ebay header and an aftermarket catalyst. My ecu is OBD2A and uses a single wire O2 sensor which i placed in the upper fitment of the header so it measure fumes only from one cylinder. During the winter, i realized that the fumes smell like gasoline and the mpg had decreased. So i believed that the sensor doesn't warm enough to work properly because it is non-heated.
I want to install a 4 wire sensor in the lower bung of the header which measure fumes from all cylinders. I read on the internet that the 2 of the wires are for the heater and the other 2 for the sensor itself (one for signal and one for ground).
I consider grounding to the chassis one wire of the heater wires and the ground wire of the sensor. Connect the signal cable to the oem sensor plug and connect the second wire of a heater on a 12v supply that turn on while i turn the key like cd player.
Have anyone tried something similar?
Is the signal of the 4 wire sensor compatible with my ecu?
Which is the best 12v supply for this application?
Thank you all in advance!!!
