Icon2 Help..... b18c1 block b16 head

Ok i had the car running about a mouth ago smooth , but took the timing belt off to get a new one , the motor has been fully rebuilt with all CTR internals i retimed it around 1030 started pulled it out of the garage , running rough but noticed the timing belt was floopy in rotation and it was popping and stuff like it was out of time , so i re-timed it now i can't get the car to even run it just turns over and pops every now and then i have re-timed the damn thing 10 times

i have Brian Crower Stage 2 Cams , Skunk2 Adjustable Cam Gears ,

blah blah blah
what is going on ?

( motor is a obd-1 ) but like i said it was running very smooth

Are you throwing any CEL?

Not doubting your mechanic skills...but have you ever done timing before this? Are you using a timing light?

Definitely sounds like timing. I had the same issue in my SR20 (sorry.. bit of a Nissan guy too) and the CAS (cam angle sensor) was a tooth off.

Make sure the crank pulley is at TDC then check the position of the cams. Once you get them lined up properly then make sure the rest of the reassembly is correct and you should be good.

Try starting all over again. I know it can be a hassle to redo it but it's good to make sure that you did everything right so you can eliminate issues it could be. Work backwards to see if you missed anything when you put it on. Make sure that everything is set right like your cam gears which you probably already know where they should be.

Hope this helps! happy Tuning!

Is it possible you have the distributor out 180 degrees? I know it's keyed to go in a certain way but it is possible to wedge it into the intake cam. Check that. If you haven't messed with it then disregard.

Ok, looks good. Is the crank gear lined up with the oil pump mark?
