machine shop cost..
how much would it cost if i took my block to a machine shop so they could change my piston and rods. i want to rebuild my motor. I will take it out, and take the head off, and the rest of the stuff out (alternator, ...) but i dont feel confortable messing with the internal. Around how do you think it would cost. No boring or anything, just take the old ones and out the new ones in. thanks
you thought about calling a local machine shop in your area?
I would recommend you let them measure your cylinder bores first before you buy new pistons because you may need to go oversize for the correct tollerances. You will almost always need a hone as well.
I imagine if all you needed was a hone that it would cost under 300 for labor. At least that is about what it would cost me.

Cleaning, honing, and boring 20 over was only $180 for me.
by the way, nice rims
