would it be bad if i take off my power steering belt off for no power steering? will there be any problems?

 

It'll disable power steering and give you the option to enable it anytime by putting the beltbackon.

 

No power steering on my 98 accord (f20b). Works just fine.

 

There is much more effort needed with the belt removed on a PS equipped car than there is with a manual rack. When you remove the belt the pressurized fluid that normally aids your input must now be "pumped" by your input. To "convert" a PS rack to manual you must "loop" the rack. Primarily this involves physically looping the two sides of the rack cylinder together to create a closed circuit, adding a breather (and maybe a small fluid resevoir) to maintain a foam free fluid level, and on certain models removal of some valving in the rack.

removing the belt is simple, but the results in my opinion are mediocre.
