honda accord cold start
1997 vtec honda accord special edition with vtec swap.
Car ran perfect until some random day.
Cold days, no start
swap ecu to non vtec ecu = start
unplug vtec solenoid = start
What is the problem?
The vtec solenoid plug had oil in and around the connector, do you think i need to clean it? Well, I tried cleaning it, depinned all male and female connectors, ran the plugs in soap and water, rinse, dried and wiped the pins off. Plugged it all back in and got no start, then i unplugged it again and it started right up.
Bad Vtec solenoid? Bad vtec wiring? Something else?
My friend says when he turns the key twice and the cel stays on, the car won't start, but after i unplugged the solenoid, he said the cel turned off and it started, but it turned back on of course because its throwing a cel for the vtec.
Help?

Keep in mind when pinning that you actually need to open up the back of the connector to get the pin to seat correctly. It is possible, and some actually do, to try to force it through the connector until you realize u can open it up for easier connection.
