Default Tried searching.. 98-02 Accord Specs and Differences

I am looking at possibly picking up a 98-02 Accord.

1. Did the V6 Accord come with a manual transmission in this year range?

2. What are the weight differences between years, trim levels and engines.

3. What is the highest output 4 cylinder that came factory ( what trim level? )

4. What is the general consensus about the 4 cylinder vs the 6 cylinder for racing and or daily driving.

Thanks in advance!

1. No
2. Wikipedia
3. Wikipedia

To add to it, the 6th gen 4cyl/V6 automatic transmissions are crap - searching should yield quite a few results of transmission failures regardless of how well the vehicles were babied. The 6th gen is a heavy vehicle and is not what I would first consider for 'racing'.

You didn't search.

Ok, so go with the manual transmission for less maintenance.

I'll look up the rest on wikipedia.

I don't plan on racing it either but heavy cars can still be fast on the track, GTR....

A GTR does not have an anemic 4 cylinder engine. "rated power to 530 bhp[14] and 612Nm of torque from 3200 to 6000rpm" Smidgen difference.

And I was comparing the Accord to say a Civic or Integra of the same years which are considerably lighter and would be preferred for the track.

Seriously, you are going to compare an AWD 550+hp, 450+tq race car to a FWD (150hp & 150tq, I4) (200hp & 195tq V6) Grocery getting sedan/coupe.

IMO the 6th gen trims are all pretty much all the same, Creature comforts in the higher models is what you get. The power plants are all F23A 150hp/152tq. Unless you get an F23A5 Non VTEC then it's 135hp/150tq......

I would stay away from the V6 models. The autotragic transmission hassles are not worth the extra 50 crank hp.

I wasn't comparing, he just made a blanket statement saying it was heavy but not comparing it to anything. Weight is relative. There are heavy fast cars, and lightweight slow cars.

Thanks for the advice, I think I have it figured out now.
