Default ICM bypass, removed, deleted, binned.... AEM, T1 , MSD

Hey

im pulling my hair out here cause i cant get it to work.. i had this setup working on another honda several years back where i bypassed, stopped using the ICM all together..... but ive gotten older and my brain has turned to jelly now and cant for the life of me remember how i did it...

i have AEM ems, MSD digi 6 plus and a blaster SS coil...

im also running a T1 cam trigger kit. (which the car has been running on)

i need to upgrade my spark as want to run a more nitrous and the OEM ignitor and coil aint up to the job....

so i have power to the MSD and it lights up with the ignition on... but when you crank it the light goes off, my AEM stat sync is 'ON'
ive done the test to see if the coil sparks by tapping the white wire to a ground source and sparks awesome!
i have the white wire wired to A22 which is the signal for the ICM..(this rings a bell for some reason... and looking at the wiring on the MSD where i connected before its the same colours)
i have the red wire to a ignition 12v
the rest is basic, ie the ciol wiring and power/ground.

is the red wire for ignition 12v+... can that be any 12v supply? or does it have to be the one at the distributor black and yellow?

please very tired of reading thro posts and have been searching for hours now...

if you could be please get back to me that would be just great!

thank you
Nathan

To bypass the ICM you have to build a little circuit... Something about the ecu not putting out a square wave signal (or some ish like that)... The circuit converts the signal to one that will trigger the MSD.

Read this

The black/yellow wire is just a + 12 v power supply so any will work.

The think is I had this working on my boosted h22 and ran 681 whp with this and the distributor was gutted... Literally nothing in it except the spark rotor......?
This is why I'm so confussed....

I think using the blk/yel wiring is relevant as the Diagram in that link suggests or it would have said 'any 12v ignition supply' I'm going to try wire it in there later...

Like I said I pulled the old prelude harness out to check what wires I cut and used and it shows I only used those to wires... The A22 and the blk/yel at the distributor

DONE!!!
I've sorted it... I'm now running a complete 'ICM'less ignition system and I didn't have to make that circuit board to replace it either!!!
Runs like a true champ!!!!

Just from parts laying around from an old Honda lol

Any details on how you made it work?

Before the circuit was developed, some guys got it to work and others didnt. Seemed like some ecus would trigger the MSD and some wouldnt. Electronics are funny like that.
