Default 00 Civic DX auto - need opinions on build

so im relatively new to the honda scene.
i currently drive a 2000 honda civic DX, automatic....
I am contemplating converting it to stick because it only have 78k miles on it.
I have a few questions to which i would like to see what people have to say!

1.Is the stock d-series worth building up some for a few more horses? (as a daily driver too)

2.In my time researching and checking out parts (and im prepared to get flamed for this), what is honestly the differences between a cheap ebay $100 exhaust vs. an apexi or greddy exhaust? Same thing for parts such as coil overs and air intakes? Is there an honest performance difference between buying name brand vs. the cheap ebay parts?

thanks for the time guys and i appreciate any feed back!

There is no reason to modify the engine unless you plan to turbo charge it.

Deffinetly start with that.

This is my reccomendation. Convert it to a 5spd, and starting working on the suspension/brakes.

If your thinking of going boost, take a look at the vitara/eagle setup. A great choice for the money!
