Once again, i've encountered the mysteries of the Check Engine Light.
A few days ago, while i was out cruising i accidently floored the gas pedal. Yes, it was an accident. It made the loudest growl i've ever heard, but it sounded healthy. About 1 minute later the "check engine" light came on, and it made me a bit nervous, thinking I may have damaged something while (accidentl) flooring my gas. Everything seemed to run fine, actually it seems that it runs better if you can believe that. I was convinced there was nothing wrong, so i reset the computer. Everything was fine as it's always been, but i sped up pretty fast again today to take on another Accord, but i did not floor it. The check engine light came back on after this today.
My question... Could I have caused damage to something by doing this? The car runs exactly the same with no noticable differences. Has anyone else had the "check engine" light appear after doing something like i have done? I'm really low on cash since i'm moving to Orlando in 2 weeks, and i'd rather not bring it into the shop just to see what's wrong. If anyone could give me their experiences or maybe alittle insight, that'd be great.

niedejb, i'm looking at your site and it seems that the blue connecter in my car only has one plug hooked into it. So there is no way for me to check. That's kinda weird. I've only owned this car for 2 months now, and i'm starting to learn that the guy who owned it before me did some strange things to this car.
Is there by chance another way to check?

The plug may be connected to a big (blue) plastic male piece.
Should be the only plug with two wires that dont go to anything else.

I found the big blue plastic peice... But there was only one wire going in it. It seems there could be 2?

Niedejb! I thank you for your patience and help. I got it sorted out and the light is now gone. Hasn't returned yet, and after resetting the ECU it seems it likes me a lot more. Thanks again. Now i know how to check the "check engine" problems now, very cool.
