I bought a 96 civic from an auction. The distributor is all jacked up but the car runs and drives. I ordered a new distributor and the same scenario.. Doesn't fit. The one on the car had been modified to fit and work. Come to find out its a z6 head on a y8 block. What should I do? A y8 dizzy won't bolt right up and a z6 dizzy has a different harness. Can I cut and swap harnesses or swap y8 dizzy internals into a z6 dizzy casing? Please help!!

 

You can swap guts between the two distributor.
