Default need advice on an ep3 purchase

Ok, So I found 2 ep3s for sale for very reasonable prices.. And just when I was about to buy 1, another one showed up craigslist for a very good price. Heres what I found

03 si. Black. 97,xxx miles price = $6300
Has some minor mods, DC sports racing header, HKS exhaust, Hondata Kpro, Infinity kappa perfect speakers, buddy club short shifter, blox racing weighted shift ****, buddy club coil overs

included with car is 2 sets of wheels and tires, 1 set of original honda 15" ep3 si wheels with all season tires and 1 set of 16" silver rota circuit 8 wheels with summer tires
also comes with K24A1 (crv) head ready to swap on

Can someone help me out on what a k24a1 head is? or how it helps

And the other one is

2. 03 si silver price= $5000

Miles: 78k miles
Color: Silver
Transmission: 5 speed Manual
Air Intake
DC sports Headers
Aftermarket Rims
Tinted tail light

Now the reason I'm stuck is because the one thats for $6,300 already comes with an ECU. Which I would need cause I want to boost my car.

but the silver one comes with only 78k less miles.. nearly 20,000 k less!!! So it's like... yooo wtf do i do?

Any suggestions would be great and highly appreciated. I can't decide and I dont want to wait too long cause they might be gone tomorrow

More money in your pocket, less miles...

Obviously you don't live near me, there are a couple on CL here $10k, $11k, and one for $6,500 trashed with high miles. Mine was listed at $11k last year and I got it for $9k....thought I got a great deal....I'd say the less modded one for me.....less mods + less miles = it will last longer....

Agreed, the only thing worth while on the black one is the K-pro.....Get the one with less miles it will last longer also usually the more mods on a car the more its been put through the hoops, you will have $1300 left over, there's your K-pro :D

Get the silver one. The K24A1 head is almost the same as the A3 head and is pointless to put on. Heck, I gave away my K24A1 head complete for free as it was taking up space. You can always buy Kpro later as well.

I looked hard for one with zero mods because people that mod their cars tend to drive them hard. But the one I got spent some time up North after I got it home I found a bunch of rust underneath. Sometimes you can't win.

What I'm trying to say is, I'd go with the cheaper car.

They say the K24a1 head flows better than the A3 head.

to the op: i am unsure if you already made your purchase, but from my experience as an ep3 owner, these cars and the k20a3 motor are built quite well and can withstand quite an amount of miles (my 03 has 117k and still runs like a champ)

i believe the key thing here is do research on both cars for their maintenance records and do a compression test on their motor. don't let mileage fool you. rather do your due diligence and look at maintenance items like brakes (pads, rotors), tires (all the same and frequency of change), suspension alterations (alignment, camber, etc.), compression test, transmission maintenance (drain and refill, clutch change, grinds).

I'm gonna go check it out sunday. So thanks for the heads up. I'm bringing a friend with me who knows all about it to make sure I don't get screwed.

And thanks guys, I have decided to go with the cheaper one. I really appreciate all the advice, I don't have advanced knowledge of cars and this is my 2nd car ( both civic ) so all this really helps. Thanks a ton, I'll let you all know what happens after Sunday!
