Axle keeps popping out, only on highway...
Car info:
91 civic hb std
89 dx motor, trans, axles, now has si knuckles no different i dont think?
ive searched and searched and have only found people having bad axles or not using the c clip and stuff like that
Im thinking i ruined the diff in the trans...
i had a bad axle seal so it was leaking not much but enough to notice
I was bassically strectching 4th gear on the highway for a good minute or two (single cams lol ) and then put it in 5th and then after that my axle popped out and didnt go back in.
Got it towed and checked everything out and it was fine even the axle splines, just to be safe i got a new axle from autozone.
So i drove it around and beat the **** out of it and it was completly fine, the next day i took it on the highway to work and it popped out again, i popped it back in this time, then last night i was on the highway and again popped out.
idk whats wrong my wheel hubs are fine and ball joints are decent enough.
So im trying to conclude if it is my trans, did i hurt the diff on the highway due to low fluid or what?
Any help would be appreciated
thanks,

Are you ordering the right axle for your DX tranny? Yes you're right all the axles have the same teeth count except for the HF. Are you installing the axle into the tranny with the clip and then pushing the axle all the way in until it clicks? Are you tightening the axle nut in the hub tight enough and denting it in? Have you checked the diff. to make sure you didn't strip the inside of them? I highly doubt you did though, I've never seen that happen. And which axle is it, driver or passenger?
+1 on the axle info (HF being different than DX/Si) but STD axles are the same as HF ones, just got done going through that pain in the *** myself.
As far as the axle popping out, no idea what the problem could be.

My budddys.ek.does/did this with autozone axles
We slapped oem ones on and problem went away
Try and source a oem axle and see.what happens

Im ordering axles for an 89 dx, its the passenger side, and im 100% sure im installing them right. the teeth are fine in the trans, how would i check the diff?
i will try to fetch an oem one at the junkyard and see if that fixes it.
anyother suggestions?
