Mugen vs. ITR LSD
For some reason, Mugen sells their LSD as 2-way..... something that is not too favorable for a fwd car IMO. As another reference, almost ALL race cars in Asia run 1.5 way. If you really plan to get it, try to find someone who has one installed to give you a test drive.
And from what I read from the net, Mugen LSD, along with LSD from TRD, Mazdaspeeds, Nismo, etc. are made by a company called Hitachi. Their LSD has smaller diameter and fewer number of clutch discs. It relies on stiffer springs to press on the clutch pack to achieve the desired locking effect.
On the other hand, KAAZ and ATS LSDs use larger diameter, more clutch discs and softer springs to create the locking effect. Advantage is that the unit would run cooler and last longer.
