Default Can somone point me in the right direction.. Rims and Slicks

Hello and thanks for viewing

Im currently pushing 251whp / 199trq on a boosted del sol and after a couple of things to help traction, I plan on turning up the boost to 350whp and shoot for mid 12's.

93 Del sol Si
d16y8 76mm sleeved block
CP Pistons / Eagle Rods
ACL Race Bearings
ARP Studs and Bolts
Full port and Polish Head
Supertech full Valvetrain
JGE Turbo Cam and cam gear
Stock z6 TB/IM
D15B LSD Trans
ACT Extreme street disk Clutch setup
Stock Flywheel

Godspeed 50 trim turbo
Turbonetics Wastegate
HKS Rep BOV
Cast Iron Exhaust Manifold
CX Huge FMIC
2.5in DP with 2.5in full exhaust and cutout
S300 tuned by Bubba 251whp / 199trq at 11psi

Tein superstreet full suspension
Stock brakes

My problem starts witht the brake setup. I want to upgrade to 11in ITR brakes but then that limits me to 15in wheels only and from what I tried looking for (with my little knowledge on drag tires), there are limited picks in tires.

Is there any brake upgrade I can use that will be very effective for street use that will also enable me to run 13x8 rims?

What size tire is the best starting point for my 350whp goal?

Is it possible to buy front rims/slicks setup with only $700 dollars? If so which ones?

How much PSI should I start from running slicks?

Im sorry for the long thread, but I want to give you guys the most information I can, to get the best answers possible. If anyone has a similar setup, can you post your HP numbers and track times with tire size and basic setup please

Thanks guys for your time!

Also, this is the kit Im running now.. Basically it was a budget build with reliabilty in mind. I plan on getting the GO-AUTOWORKS Race kit with GT30R turbo next year and upgrading to 3in dp and exhaust

I recommend you stay with the suspension that will let you run a 13" wheel that said i wont go any bigger then a 23" slick around 9psi to start

Looking at exospeeds website, what do you guys think of this combo?

23x8x13 M&H Slicks
Exospeed VPD 13X7 Rims

Based on what I read about the rims, I dont have to have extended wheel studs and they will fit if I did a GSR Brake upgrade as well.

that combo will work perfect for you. just curious why ur so set in upgrading ur brakeing system are you having problems with it stopping cause if you arnt just leave the stock setup i would just buy sum new rotors an brake pads sum stainless steel brake lines an call it good by putting on the GSR knuckles are you doing is adding more weight.

I work here in Wilmington ca right next to the long beach ports and about 2 weeks ago, while I was driving to work, some trucker ran a red light and I slammed on the brakes doing about 50mph and I barely mangaed to stop about 3ft away. Had good tires and about 40ft to brake.

IDK maybe Im just being a little bitch, but it scared me to the point where getting bigger brakes seemed important..

Get some good pads, preferably Axxis(PBR) Ultimate(Ult). They are the best bang for the buck, ranging around $60 for fronts. I have them on my them on all my cars, front and rear. While you're at it, get some good rotors too. Since you're in SoCal, E Auto Parts and 88Rotors are excellent sources for Axxis(PBR). I run consistent 10s and have no problems stopping, there is no need for you to upgrade your brakes. If $60 seems high for you, Axxis has a lower model called Metal Master(XGB). Metal Master also work well and range around $50 for fronts. Stopping power on the Ultimate is much better because it yields a higher temperature, meaning it can handle a higher heat range.
