Default brake issues booster or mc

i think it is my booster because i can press pedal and get a solid feel when car is off and i depress pedal and it will hold pressure but as soon as i start the car it looses the pedal and wont hold the pressure when i pump the brakes. the motor also starts to labor when i pump the brakes as well so i am tinking that the booster is having some issues but it is definently not the check valve.

Bad brake booster = vacuum leak and FIRM brake pedal...

Bad Master Cylinder = can be soft/no pedal, no brakes, loss of fluid, ect...

A brake booster is EXACTLY that - it helps lower the force required for the operator to push the pedal. When it fails the brake pedal is harder to depress.

Look below the master cylinder on the brake booster: Is it wet?

When is the last time you checked your rear brakes? Or how about brakes in general?

Do the brakes still work? How does the fluid level look?

When the vehicle is off - press on the pedal and hold it for a couple minutes. Does it slowly drift to the floor?

I think you jumped the gun on your diagnosis...

the booster does not look dripping wet but has damp looking dirt build up on it.
brakes on front look like calipers move freely rear brakes have not pulled drums off but are not leaking fluid and do not have what appears to have been fluiding leaking at any time. they do work though and release as well.

when i pumped the pedal with car off it was 2-3 pumps and it was hard and while holding pressure for 20-30 seconds it did not lose any pressure. hold the pedal start the car and it went completle to floor immediatly and would not regain any pressure at all but when pedal hits floor the motor would make a laboring sound and every time u pushed pedal to floor it would do it ? to me it sounds like a booster for the fact that the pedal is normal and stays full of pressure til it is running
