Default '98 Accord LX: Oil Consumption

My daughter's '98 accord is consuming a fair amount of oil.

Changed the oil at 169,300 and used 1.5 qts of Lucas

Car is now up to only 170,100 and already about 1/2 qt down from full mark on dip stick.

No spots on the driveway or anything like that and the oil that I drained seemed fine - not foamy and an expected color.

I've never had a car that burned oil before so this is a new experience for me

A couple quick questions/comments:

1. Where is the oil "going"? As mentioned, not dripping out that I can see. No smokey exhaust

2. I typically had been using 5W-30 or 0W-30 when I could find it. 100% Synthetic. Mostly use Mobile 1 synthetic but sometimes Quaker, Castol, ...

3. In researching and using this forum, I'm going to use 10W-30 next oil change and stay away from Mobile 1 (read that this oil burns more readily than others)

4. I'm hoping by stepping up to a weightier oil, I can avoid buying the lucas Stabilizer... that stuff gets expensive

Not sure what else i can do...?

Any thoughts would be appreciated

Thank you
