So that little shim job that holds the timing gear to the cam. I have looked on majestic and when i go to auto zone or shmucks and ask them they look like there gunna start bleeding from the ears. So any one know where to pic something like that up at?

Are we talking about the camshaft gear or the crankshaft gear. It would be best to post a picture at this point.

Oh okay, you need the metal key for the cam pulley/gear of a D16Z6 engine.

im pretty sure the "key" on the cam gear is ground out of it. ie: part of the cam gear. i had to replace my cam a few years back because i didnt put the washer onto the bolt holding the gear to the cam and it ground fu**ed it up. i actually lost the woodruff key to my crankshaft pulley and ground one out of a piece of metal stock. it worked fine for me.

 

Dont get so depressed bro, its literally like $3.28 at the dealership. Its not expensive at all. And even if you have to buy a new cam gear pulley to get it, its only $16.

 

Is this for an aftermarket cam gear? The factory keyway is built into the gear. The Honda part # for the key is 90741-657-000

 

Hardware store just get good grade metal !
