I'm looking to paint my car & have been searching cl A lot. The bigger tank sizes I've found 30+ gallons with a 6+ scfm @ 90 psi were at around $800.00 plus. which is way more than I am willing to spend. Found a few others around the 20+ gallon range but there cfm wasn't adequate. Now I've stumbled across an oilless one that does 6.2 scfm@90 psi at a good price. However tank size is only 4.5 gallons. The scfm is adequate, price for it is good I'm just worried about it being 4.5 gallons...Opinions are appreciated. I will be using a Urethane bc/cc & prefer to paint everything at once as I'm worried the color will have a different shade doing piece by piece.

 

Gallons matter very little. It's all about CFM. Plus, if you look used, you can find 50 gallon tanks for around 100-150$ that you can put between the compressor and the gun.

Thats the one I got last year and I havent had any complaints painting with it or using a da.

 

Got myself a craftsman 35gal with hose and some fittings for 400$ brand new.. and its not a 220v so you can plug it in any outlet.
