Rough warm Idle
My car's idle is acting all wonky when warm. After getting off the freeway, and stopping at a red light, stop sign, or whatever, the car's RPMs drop for a split second, it sputters a bit, and sometimes it dies. What causes this? Fuel injector cleaner doesn't solve the problem, and it doesn't happen when cold. Suggestions?
just saw answer to my questions, but id definitely check the CEL if your car threw one. if there's no CEL i would start with the spark plugs and plug wires cause when they bad or worn u can only tell when car is warm and not cold.
i was suffering from the same problem, i am a mechanic at honda, i had tested everything and i mean everything, finally i put some gas line anti-freeze in, problem solved! gas or fuel line antifreeze will absorb water and moisture in the tank which can cause idle sputtering, hesitation, low power at low rpm but not much differnce at high rpm. I used Iso-heet, $1.50 at partsource, give it a shot our older cars are more prone to getting water and moisture in there. Goodluck hope this helps!
