burning oil after oil change?
ok so my eg coupe with a b20b4 swap needed an oil change so 3 days ago i had changed it and i used Valvoline high mileage 10w 30 and a fram oil filter and i always do my oil changes so i know what im doing but besides the fact my motor awlays ran great and never burned oil until the day after i did the oil change and the swap only has about 50k miles on it. and i was just wondering what could cause this. my friend noticed this when he was behind me and i was gettin on it the other day. please help
thanks
thanks
10w30 seems a bit thick and fram filters are terrible but if your friend saw blue smoke then you mite have a bad oil ring or if you were hitting vtec then that could be why since we always burn oil during vtec.
and i had no idea fram was that bad but thanks for letting me know. i will never use one again

When you add the oil double check the dip stick, sometimes you will only add a hair more than 4 quarts, you might of burned off excess oil.
As for oil and filter that has nothing to do with it.
As a side note 10w....is just for start up, might as well use 5w 30 or go higher on the last number for older engines if that was your goal.
well thanks for all the help but i just bought a different oil change today and im going to change it in a little bit but hopefully it stops i went back to the same oil and filter i have always used
wish me luck!!
