What is your fuel pump goals? Are you gonna be going forced induction? Staying stock motor with basic bolt ons?

Probably basic with bolt ons for now. I wanna turbo eventually. And I'm about to build a d16z6 and put in my hatch.

Well if your ultimate goal is forced induction then go for a 255 Walboro.

Was the lifespan cut due to user error?

Ive always heard good about Walboro, worse comes to worse call em up and ask about their coverage if something does go wrong, we used external ones on our sprint cars for years with no problem.

Ive heard of socks not being attached properly with the clamp and not picking fuel up, but again user error, maybe wait till someone else chimes in or google some reviews on different brands.
