Hey, I would like to know any of your experiences/insights on aftermarket catalytic converter. I look up in the google and i see the aftermarket CC for 110 dollars comparing to OEM about 500 dollars. Since my del sol is missing a CC after swapping a new jdm b16a engine.

my plan with the del sol is daily driving and possibly putting a turbo sometimes in the future. for now i need cc for legal reasons.

I m thinking of two choices: Go to junkyard and pull out a used CC. or buy a brand new aftermarket CC made by Eastern cc.

are there any causes and effects between an oem and aftermarket cc?

What state do you live in?


Most junkyards do not sell used catalytic converters for legal reasons. I would try and find a used Civic/Integra one on craigslist.
Why not just run a resonated test pipe painted black?

If your state doesnt do smog, the $110 one should do the trick.

Test pipes will net you the most gains.

 

Magnaflows are about $150.

 

i just want to keep my car as street legal, otherwise i would do differently.

yea i see one of magnaflows for $60 but has no flanges on it. $110 with flanges.
