Default Ball Joints and Bushings

I was wondering how hard it is to replace ball joints on a 90 CRX?

Not hard with the right tools. Need a press and various sockets, pipe fittings etc. You can rent or buy a kit with everything you need other then the press.

It all depends on the tools you have access to.

Press? You don't need one... Pipe Fittings? No, don't need them either... Regardless, you never said if you were wanting to replace the uppers, lowers, or all of them. The top is extremely easy as is the bottom. You can do the job without any specialty tools. If you wanted to use some to make it easier, it would be just snap ring pliers and maybe a "pickle fork". You asked how hard it was, not how to do it. Go and look at a repair manual and see if it's too much for you.

Then again, If you are asking I would just take it to a shop.

Very Easy! If you can't get them out with some good smacks, I've used a jack to get the bottoms out, tops usually aren't an issue. Pop out the old, put in the new, and do not forget the snap rings.

If you really have rookie wrenching skills you can buy the upper arms that come ready to install with all new hardware and ball joints. The lowers are easy, almost as easy as googling "crx balljoint removal"

jack under the lower has worked for me!

Op are you asking how hard it is to replace them or remove and replace them?

No offense but if you cannot remove them I wouldnt attempt installing new joints yourself.

We aren't trying to discourage just being practical.

A set of pliers, metric sockets a hammer and ratchet should get them off the car you made need a balljoin separating tool if its stubborn. Hope this helps

Ummm. Do you mean using the upper ball joints as lowers? As far as I know S2 does not make lower ball joints just the upper. Try moog for the lowers and avoid unknown balljoints from shady eBay sellers. Napa is pretty good also albeit all made in china...

propane torch or map gas.

moog makes great balljoints they are a little more expensive but worth it imo
