Default ... w i n t e r   p r o j e c t s ...

... i was wondering what everyone had planned for winter projects?!?

... here is what i have planned so far: cometic head gasket and arp head studs... (looking for suggestions) anything else i should do while i have the head off (valvetrain, mill, cams)?... i am also planning on upgrading my stock shocks... maybe konis, tokico, or kyb... any other ideas/suggestions for my winter project?... right now i am only boosting 5.5 psi, but i think i can go up to 7 psi and still be safe (putting the diy-wb on soon so i will know for sure)... my goal for after the winter is 10-15 psi, 275-300 whp, mid to low 13's... my winter budget is about $1500-$2000... is this goal possible?... what do i need to do to get there by next spring?...

any/all suggestion are appreciated... lemme know... thanks...

turbo set up with my custom fabricated intercooler from http://tjn115.tripod.com/icweb.htm. Probably do some block and head work, if I can find some parts for my d15b2.

upgrade to a hondata 4b and get a DIY wideband and learn to tune my own car. play with the motor in the car right now and try out some stuff, maybe a lil more boost, maybe some race gas, maybe blow it up hehe all for fun and the experience. Then in the mean time Im gonna re-ring and clean up my spare LS block and drop that in when i blow up my current one. then save up and do I FULL build up on my original block, more like winter/spring/summer/fall project haha. And in the middle of all that I gotta find time to put the car down for a few weeks while I rebiuld the tranny and install a quaffe, maybe a new clutch too but the current one is still holding up really good. glad im working again but it should fun and I should learn alot. our winters in texas are more like cold/rainy summers we can pretty much race year around but the winter is actually the peak of the racing season cause of the cold weather. haha.

I don’t have any big projects planed this winter (i have working in the cold). To complete my setup all i need is to decide between Hondata and AEM then tune and i'm all done with the power plant.
Then i plan on putting it in the body shop to shave the moldings and handles (call me a ricer all you want but i like the look + i'm able to hand 95% if not more of the Hondas around here) and get a nice paint job. Install my Z10 and i'm ready for summer cursing.

Not quite winter yet, but depending on how low the machine shop has my block....

Currently, i'm waiting for the machine shop to install my darton's, balance the rotating mass, and partialy assemble the bottom-end for me.

Darton's
Wiseco 84.5mm
Eagle rods
ACL's
ARP head studs

I still need a better fuel setup to realize more than 10psi of boost...Hopefully I can have it all done before winter actually gets here, that way i can driveit a bit.

Oh yeah, 1.8T_EG I think the best mod you could do for your setup would be to swap out to a T3/T4 setup. That super 60 is prolly good foir early spool and daily drving, but it doens't flow quite enough for your high revving B18C.

oh man, in Minnesota, so many people get a lot done over winter. The muscle car guys especially. When ever I can sell my teg to finance my turbo civic I'll start working on that around fall hopefully. I plan on getting a hold of a vtec sohc and throwing in some LS rods and maybee better pistons if money permitts. then swap that w/stock. Goal is strong reliable boost

I gotta pick up the block from the machine shop on friday, when the cometic comes in today or tomorrow assemble the motor. I still can't get the damn transmission casing back on, so I also need to do that. After all that is complete, I can finish my turbo setup.........Gonna buy
Delphi 75lb/hr
MaxRev manifold/dp(3')
Blow off vavle
Tuning by VaporTrail...

God why cant money just come faster......it kills me looking at this damn 60-1 everyday I wake up in my room....

-Pull the b16 out of the black g2

-Take the vtec head and assemble
the built bottom end

-Pull the LS out of the white g2

-Swap that LS onto the black g2

-Swap all suspension, electronics
interior, etc., from the black g2 -> white g2

-Get the white g2 painted

Hopefully I can be back boosting by next year

Well right now I plan to finish my custom turbo kit that I bought. Most of the piping doesn't fit and I dont even have all the parts. Hopefully this wont take me to winter or even that much of the fall.

Rebuild Transmission in CRX
Install Quaife LSD in it
Strip it to the bone
Install Roll bar
Install 5 pt harness
GC Coilovers
Koni Yellows

if needed rebuild engine with stock compression forged internal in anticipation of a home made turbo setup to be done next winter.

assuming I keep the car of course.
