Default fuel

I have a 92 prelude s, it has 214,000 miles. What type of fuel should I put in it. 87, 89, 93 ? Any suggestions? Likewise, is there an additive that I can buy to clean out the injectors that works well. Thanx

i always run premium gas. I pay for it but i prefer it. I'm sure that any of the STP fuel system cleaning systems or injector cleaneres will work about the same.

run 87. You will gain no performance running anything better. You could try 89, but 92 is completely unnecessary and would decrease power output if anything.

I recommend Regane complete fuel system cleaner as an injector cleaner.

you put fuel in your car. WOW you must have some special engine if you have to put different combinations of combustilbe liquids in your tank.
I put gas in my car and so you many other people.

Wow, that last reply was kind of smart-***. But anyway...
I have a '93 S. You are wasting your money to use anything higher than 87. I ran high octane for a couple months and it didn't make a difference. However, with such high mileage as yours, you should be listening closely for pinging. If you hear an early detonation, definitely switch to 89.
As far as injector cleaner, I run it every couple months or so and it doesn't seem to have any effect. Maybe that just means my injectors are clean. I did read somewhere recently, though, that lots of injector cleaner is bad for your gaskets or something. (?)
